Billy K. Lemons, RF, Principal Consultant with Resource Analytical & Management Group, was the principal speaker at an educational seminar for east Texas land, mineral and royalty owners held at the Pavilion In The Pines meeting facility, Jasper, Texas, on Saturday, May 16, 2009.
The seminar was hosted by the First Judicial District Bar Association of the State Bar of Texas (texasbar.com), the Texas Land & Mineral Owners Association (tlma.org), and the Texas Forestry Association (texasforestry.org). All proceeds after facility and catering costs went to Texas Lions Camp, providing camping experiences at no charge to children with medical conditions, since 1949. Speakers donated their time.
Mr. Lemons’ two-part presentation covered an introduction to minerals asset management, with concentrations on understanding industry organization, who’s who when they call or come knocking, proper perspectives for valuing one’s minerals and prospective leases, the must of getting professional assistance, a long list of basic dos and don’ts in the business, and monitoring and enforcement.
Resource Analytical & Management Group is a Nacogdoches-based natural resource consulting firm that represents land, mineral and royalty owners in matters of oil and gas leases, pipeline and roadway easements, surface damages, seismic permits, and royalty audits. Lemons is a 1974 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and a 30-year veteran of the profession. During the past two years Lemons has been featured speaker for more than a dozen public seminars and workshops for land and mineral owners in east Texas, north Texas and northwest Louisiana. His down-to-earth talks and print articles on stewardship of oil, gas and mineral assets are popular across four states in the immediate region and as far east as the Marcellus Shale play in Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia.

Billy K. Lemons, RF, Principal Consultant with Resource Analytical & Management Group, spoke to land and mineral owners at three Harvest In Harmony educational seminars held by the Chisholm Trail Resource Conservation & Development, Inc., in north central Texas in late 2008 and early 2009.
The first seminar was held in Bowie, Texas on December 11, 2008, the second was held in Archer City, Texas on March 04, 2009, and the third was held in Decatur, Texas on March 05, 2009.
The north central region of Texas is home to the Barnett Shale oil and gas play, with natural gas composing the principal commodity produced from the play. However, oil and natural gas condensate make up a large portion of the production from the Barnett in the northern window of the play in and around the areas of Bowie and Decatur, Texas.

Lemons Draws 600+ Audience Of Haynesville Shale Land & Mineral Owners

Billy K. Lemons, Principal Consultant of Resource Analytical & Management Group, drew an overflow crowd of more than 600 land and mineral owners to his “Introduction To Good Stewardship Of Your Oil, Gas & Mineral Assets” seminar held in Grand Cane, Louisiana on May 29, 2008.
The seminar was hosted by the Logansport Tribune and the DeSoto Parish Chamber of Commerce and was covered by The Shreveport Times.
The Haynesville Shale play was in its infancy at the time, with most mineral owners still leasing their acreage for as little as $250 per net mineral acre lease bonus and 1/5th lease royalty.
However, with the truth spreading quickly by word of mouth and newspaper and TV news coverage immediately following Lemons’ talk, along with his talk just a month later in Stonewall, Lousiana, which drew a crowd of more than 500 mineral owners, mineral owners in the region soon began to realize that they had something even better than the Barnett Shale play in north central Texas.
In the weeks following the seminar, lease bonus and royalties in the play immediately skyrocketed, with, for example, the City of Shreveport getting $30,000 per net mineral acre lease bonus and a 30-percent royalty for its mineral acreage leases.

Billy K. Lemons named Regional Vice President of Texas Land & Mineral Owners Association.
Billy K. Lemons, RF, has been named Regional Vice President for Region 6 of the Texas Land and Mineral Owners Association (tlma.org), a non-profit, statewide advocacy association working on behalf of land and mineral owners in the State of Texas. The region encompasses east Texas and is an historic hotbed of oil and gas activity in the state.
Mr. Lemons is a 1974 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and has done graduate and post graduate studies in forest biometrics, applied statistics, oil and gas and real estate. He is a principal of Resource Analytical & Management Group, a Nacogdoches-based consultancy, with almost three decades experience in providing consulting forestry, oil and gas, GIS, appraisal, management and other services to clientele of non-industrial private landowners and mineral interests, estates and trusts, family limited partnerships, charities, industrial and financial institutions, and legal and accounting firms.
He is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, the Texas Forestry Association, and the Forest Landowners Association, as well as other professional associations. He is a Texas registered Easement & Right-of-Way Agent and a Registered Forester.
“I very much look forward to continuing to serve in any capacity I can with the TLMA and the land and mineral owners in the State of Texas who so desire to be good stewards of the natural resources with which God has blessed us,” says Mr. Lemons. “The cause is right, the opportunities for accomplishment are unlimited, and I am ready to go to work.”
